This has absolutely nothing to do with triathlon, travel or work. However I have spent so-o-o-o much time figuring this out so wanted to pass the knowledge over.
I have a fantastic laser printer Samsung SCX-4500W, an oldie but such a great working horse. The only problem in my house was that it was too complicated to connect it to the WiFI and make my MacBook print from it. Some hours well spent and hurray – problem solved. As I have myself googled gazzilion times on the topic and haven’t really find how – this is the answer.
Step 1: Connect Samsung SCX-4500W to the WiFi
- Connect printer with the Ethernet cable to the WiFi router.
- Press Stop/Clear button for 4 seconds and wait until the printer will print out its default network configuration.
- Go to the IP adress stated in the report -> SyncThru web service will appear in a browser.
- Go to the Network Settings tab and choose Wireless from the side menu.
- Click though the wizard giving the name and the password for the desired WiFi network.
- Wait until the setup is successful.
- Disconnect Ethernet cable.
- Voile – you printer is connected to the network.
Step 2: Find right driver for your MacBook (Ventura 13 in my case)
- Go to the HP portal with all the drivers and software.
- Choose Samsung Xpress SL-M2070 Laser Multifunction Printer series. In the upcoming page choose MacOS and 10.15 version.
- Download Samsung Universal Print and Scan Driver from the Basic Drivers tab.
- In the downloaded folder go to MAC_PRINTER and install Printer Driver.pkg.
- Go to System Settings – Printers&Scanners and choose Add Printer, Scanner or Fax….
- Choose the printer from the list. In the Use field choose Select Software.
- From the list choose “Samsung M2010”.
- Press Add.
Congratulations you are now able to print wirelessly on your Samsung SCX-4500W and MacOS Ventura 13. Hope this worked for you!
